How to Collaborate as a Driver with the Bolt Transport Application

If you are present today and seeking information on how to register as a partner driving with the Bolt company, you have come to the right place. You can earn a living by working during your own free time; it resembles running a business where you are not accountable to anyone. In contrast to traditional office work, where you must clock in and out and are treated like a child, with Bolt, you receive your payment at the end of the month through a paycheck.

The advantage of Bolt is that it accepts both older and newer model cars, making it a more affordable and secure transportation option. During the COVID pandemic, my business suffered due to its nature, and I became a Bolt driver, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I earned a substantial amount of money that supported me and my loved ones.

You can join Bolt if you are a woman, and the most appealing aspect is that married women can also participate, as Bolt exclusively provides female customers to female drivers, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for women. I attempted to book a Bolt ride for my sister and wife, but I was required to upload my ID immediately and was denied access to the women-only app, as they only accept female drivers.

One notable feature of Bolt is that you can drive and earn whenever you choose, making it a reliable source of income, similar to a business that sells food or water.

To Get started

Bolt is relatively straightforward when compared to numerous other driving applications that necessitate costly vehicles, and you often have to wait an entire day for your requested car to arrive. With Bolt, you can utilize a car manufactured from 2014 onwards, in contrast to Uber, which only accepts vehicles from 2021. The safety and quality of a car do not rely on its recency, but rather on the driver and the condition of the road.

1. Register online

Tell Bolt which city you’d like to drive in and the type of licence you have. You will receive an email with the next steps.

Tap Apply to start your applications.

2. Upload your documents

The documents needed to drive on the Bolt platform can vary depending on your location.

Step 3 is intended for individuals who cannot afford a car; therefore, renting is an option.
3. Rent a vehicle

If you don’t have access to a car, we can connect you with a fleet partner who will offer you a vehicle to drive. Check out the Vehicle Marketplace ↗ for offers available in your city.

3. Huru Criminal Record Check

A clear criminal record check (CRC) is mandatory for all Bolt drivers.
Click here for information on how to obtain your CRC. For the CRC document expiry date, use your Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) expiry date. This date can be found in the bottom right corner of your driving license.
Reports older than 12 months will not be accepted.
By uploading your criminal record check, you provide Bolt with your consent to process your criminal data under Bolt’s Privacy Notice.

How the Bolt Driver app works

Reliable and easy to use, with everything you need to drive and earn when you want.
  1. Accept a ride request
The Bolt Driver app will automatically find passengers for you.
  2. Pick up your passenger
The app will guide you to your passenger’s location. Once there, please pick them up.
  3. Drive to their destination.
Follow the directions to their destination and swipe to end the ride when you get there.
  4. Repeat to earn more money
Keep driving and earning, or go offline — you’re always in full control of your schedule.
Be your boss. Start driving and earning!
It takes just 2 minutes to submit your information and get approval immediately, unlike Uber. Your weekly earnings are ZAR 5,220

Some factors to remember

  1. Riders pay these earnings
Your final earnings (after commission) depend on the number of rides as well as their distance, time, and location.
  2. Earnings include fares, campaigns
Fares and campaigns may change and vary by location, and tips (which the passenger leaves at their discretion).
  3. The median in your area may be lower than the country’s median.
Since the median is only statistical average, you may earn more or less than the median amount.
