Hatchbacks only will be accepted on UberGo.

4-door hatchbacks – 3 years old and newer (i.e. in 2024, the oldest eligible vehicles are from 2021).

4-door sedans – 3 years old and newer (i.e. in 2024, the oldest eligible cars are from 2021).

4-door SUVs – 3 years old and newer (i.e. in 2024, the oldest eligible cars are from 2021).

ABS, passenger and driver airbags are safety features fitted to all vehicles
Uber reserves the right to update the eligibility criteria for cars as they relate to different products at any time, in its sole discretion, without prior notice.
Your vehicle must-haves
- Model year must be 3 years or newer (i.e. in 2024, the oldest eligible vehicles are from 2021) – Across all products – UberGO, UberX, UberComfort, UberBlack, UberVan, UberXL
- 5-door hatchback or 4-door sedan, SUV or minivan
- ABS, passenger and driver airbags are safety features fitted
- Good condition
- No cosmetic damage (What Is Cosmetic Damage? Cosmetic damage refers to damage that has had no impact on the structure or function of your vehicle. This damage could be paint scratches, scraped bumpers, or dings on the body. Cosmetic damage can be a result of rocks flying up, weather conditions, or lightly bumping into something.

- Commercial vehicle insurance
The document must have the following six points visible for it to be approved;
- Comprehensive Cover
- Business Use
- Name of Insurer
- Inception / Start Date
- Policy Number
- Vehicle Registration
- A vehicle inspection report, which can be obtained from DEKRA
Please note: Only Uber Inspection Reports from Dekra will be considered. A Roadworthy Certificate is not required.

Uber Comfort
To ensure that Uber Comfort provides riders with the right quality and experience of a premium product (primarily extra length and comfort), we have selected the following vehicle types for consideration as Uber Comfort vehicles. Please refer to the list of eligible cars below.
Additional requirements
- High-quality sedan or SUV
- Model year must be 5 years or newer (i.e in 2025, the oldest eligible vehicles are from 2020).
- Seats at least four passengers in addition to the driver
- Working windows and air conditioning
- No full-sized vans or trucks
- No taxi cabs, government cars, or other marked vehicles
- No salvaged or rebuilt vehicles
- Highly rated drivers with a minimum rating of 4.92

How to obtain this document:
- Visit your nearest roadworthy centre or DEKRA
- They will give you an extra form that you submit to the licensing department
- This document is obtainable at any Licensing Department and takes between 1 and 3 days to receive
- This document indicates that it is a commercial vehicle used to transport people
- If you do your roadworthy and vehicle inspection at DEKRA, an overall discount will be imposed.

How to obtain this document
- This document is obtained when you purchase and register the vehicle in your name.
- If this is a financed vehicle, the bank may hold the original document (Ask for a copy from the bank)
Tips to load this document
- The year of first registration, as well as the license plate of the vehicle should be visible
- The vehicle needs to be registered in your applicable province. Any documents provided by other provinces can not be accepted.

How to obtain this document
- Your nearest DEKRA test centre performs vehicle inspections
- The Inspection report must be uploaded within 1 Month of completing your inspection.

Tips to upload this document
- Make sure your vehicle has passed the inspection. Vehicles who has failed the inspection will not be accepted on the Uber platform.
- No written reports will be accepted.
